DESCRIPTION:Recognizing the Links Between Nutrition\, Eating Disorders\, and Pelvic Health\n\n\n\n\n\nOn Friday\, September 18th\, Chelsea Edwards\, MS\, RDN\, CEDS-C and Lisa English\, PT\, DPT\, WCS will present on recognizing the links between nutrition\, eating disorders\, and pelvic health. We’ll also enable providers from all disciplines to identify patients at risk for pelvic floor dysfunction by recognizing symptoms encountered across medical\, nutrition\, and therapy settings\, leading to earlier referrals and improved patient outcomes. Join us to connect with fellow eating disorder professionals from across Alabama for collaboration\, education\, and community. Meet clinicians from a variety of disciplines\, expand your professional network\, and earn CE credit while learning from experts in the field. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nChelsea Edwards\, MS\, RDN\, CEDS-C\, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. As the owner of Huntsville Nutrition Collective\, a group practice in Huntsville\, Alabama\, Chelsea provides high-quality\, compassionate nutrition therapy services\, specializing in eating disorders and utilizing a non-diet\, body-inclusive approach. Her dedication to promoting a healthy relationship with food is central to her work\, emphasizing the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES)\, body trust\, and Intuitive Eating. Chelsea’s expertise extends into academia as a lecturer at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. She has developed two courses for the health and nutrition minor\, enriching future health professionals with a nuanced understanding of contemporary nutrition and disease prevention. Her insights have been featured by local media and Southern Living\, reflecting her standing as a trusted expert. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLisa English\, PT\, DPT\, WCS\, received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from University of Florida in 2011. She began her career in pelvic health and lymphedema in 2012 where she founded and grew the pelvic health outpatient physical therapy program at Stanford-Valleycare in Livermore\, CA. She received her Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) credential from the American Board of Physical Therapist Specialties (ABPTS) in 2020. She is currently the Clinic Director at Nesin Pelvic Health in Huntsville\, AL where she treats all genders and pediatrics for pelvic floor conditions. Lisa desires to improve both community and clinician understanding of the role of pelvic floor physical therapy as a valuable medical intervention. She has spoken at community groups\, schools\, conferences\, and assists in continuing education courses through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPlease take advantage of the free parking available in the lot behind the building!
