We exist to support the professionals who treat eating disorders, but we know that people looking for help sometimes find their way here, too. If you or someone you care about is struggling with an eating disorder, you are not alone, and support is available.

Dawn Gannon, MBA, CAE, Chief Executive Officer

Dawn Gannon, MBA, CAE, is Chief Executive Officer of the iaedp Foundation, where she leads strategy, operations, and programs for professionals treating eating disorders worldwide. Since joining in 2024, she has led a financial recovery from a substantial deficit, achieving a positive year-end result within two years. She has strengthened governance and expanded professional education and international engagement. She serves on the ASAE ForesightWorks Committee and uses foresight in strategic planning and daily decisions. Dawn is a United States Navy Veteran who spent 20 years in higher education before moving into nonprofit and association leadership. She was Assistant Registrar at Wesley Biblical Seminary and held operational roles at Vanderbilt University, Trevecca Nazarene University, and Monmouth University. Her subsequent 20 years in the nonprofit sector include leadership at RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association, the Academy for Eating Disorders, the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence, the International Erosion Control Association, and her own consulting practice. A Certified Association Executive through the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and an ASAE Certificate in Strategic Foresight Application. She holds an MBA from American Public University and is an active member of ASAE committees and bodies. She also served as president of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine Women’s Council.

Sonya Bunton, CPM, Manager of Continuing Education

Sonya Bunton has more than 20 years of experience in public service and client-facing roles, with strong expertise in management, operations, and financial oversight. Her background includes government operations, strategic planning, logistics, and process improvement, providing a well-rounded and results-driven approach to her work. Sonya recently completed her Certified Public Manager program and is passionate about bringing innovative ideas and continuous improvement to every role she undertakes. Outside of work, she enjoys camping with her family, gardening, and spending time immersed in a good book.

Cristal Carr, Manager of Certification

Cristal Carr brings a unique blend of experience in hospitality, construction, and painting to her work supporting certification and continuing education programs. Her background has honed her strengths in customer service, organization, and problem-solving—skills essential to guiding professionals through credentialing requirements, renewals, and continuing education tracking. Cristal is known for making complex processes feel approachable and manageable, with a calm, solutions-focused approach. She also brings a strong foundation in project management, helping to streamline systems and ensure timely, accurate support for the iaedp™ community. Her holistic, learner-centered philosophy reflects a deep belief that professional growth is a journey rooted in curiosity, care, and clarity. Based in Maine, Cristal is a certified herbalist and lifelong nature enthusiast who enjoys hiking, foraging, and relaxing by the water.

Maricarmen Diaz Juarez, Director of International Affairs

Maricarmen Díaz lives in Mexico City. She dedicated most of her professional career - nearly thirty years - to being a university professor and researcher in the field of Law. Her academic and professional preparation comes with a Law degree, a master's degree in Higher Education and a PhD in Private Law, so her command of Spanish is at a very advanced level. Since 2015, she started with the Spanish translation of the Eating Disorders Review, and since 2020, she has been part of the iaedp™ team as Director of Language and Translation, being the Spanish face of the association. She likes to think that with her work, she helps valuable information reach more people, in Spanish-speaking countries, who are looking for treatment for recovery from these complex illnesses. Currently, she also has her own company: Your Business in Spanish: culturally sensitive Spanish translation specializing in mental health and eating disorders. In her free time, she enjoys reading about personal development and novels by Latin American authors, swimming daily and outdoor activities.

Holly Douglas, MSRT, CTRS, Symposia Manager

Holly Douglas, MSRT, CTRS, brings a background in recreational therapy, mental health, and professional education to the iaedp Foundation. Her strengths include building meaningful connections, sharing practical resources, and helping others navigate opportunities for learning and growth. She brings a thoughtful, person-centered approach and a commitment to supporting professionals and the communities they serve. Holly is passionate about women’s mental health and the role of recreation and creative activities in supporting well-being. She values collaboration, accessible education, and translating knowledge into practical tools that empower others and support compassionate care.

Stacey Goldberg, Director of Corporate Partnerships

Stacey Goldberg is a strategic partnerships consultant with over 20 years of experience helping nonprofits, associations, and mission-driven organizations unlock the full value of their corporate engagement. Through her firm, Beyond Booth Consulting and agency collaborations with For Momentum and JSB Partnership Consultants, she creates high-impact partnership programs that align with brand goals, drive revenue, and build authentic social impact. Her consulting portfolio includes work with national nonprofits like Shriners Hospitals for Children, DonorsChoose, Meals on Wheels America, and the Humane Society of the United States. Stacey also brings deep expertise in the association space, having worked with the American Academy of Pediatrics, AAOMS, ASSP, EDUCAUSE, and more. Her strategic programs for clients such as ASBO and TABS have exceeded budget expectations while elevating member engagement. Before launching her own consultancy, Stacey was Vice President at ESP Properties (formerly IEG), where she led nonprofit client strategy and was a featured speaker at industry conferences including IEG, AFP, and ASAE. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Melody “Mel” Jordan-Carr, CAE, Director of Membership and Chapters

Rooted in the belief that membership is the business of people and the power of community, Melody Jordan-Carr has been both a student and a contributor to the tree of membership knowledge for trade associations, non-profits, and professional societies of diverse sizes and industries. From nurturing membership teams, to growing value-driven programs, she has been a trusted advisor to leaders and staff to germinate membership solutions that help non-profit/ association memberships flourish. An empathetic, creative, strategic… and yes, data-driven association leader, Melody has invested in the growth of numerous organizations over more than two decades including the American Trucking Associations, ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, and the National League of Cities, among others. Melody has presented on association management, membership, and strategy at ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership’s Annual meetings, Great Ideas Conference, and Membership Marketing Communications and Technology. Additionally, as a subject matter expert in membership management, operations and marketing, she has spoken at annual meetings for several state associations: the New England Society of Assocation Executives, Washington Society of Association Executives, and the Kansas Society of Association Executives. She earned her master's degree in Nonprofit and Association management and bachelor’s degree in journalism. She currently serves as the chair of the ASAE Foundation’s Foresight Works Advisory Group.

Melissa Johnson, US Chapters Coordinator

Melissa Johnson is a dynamic event planner with three years of experience in planning and executing a range of events, from large sporting events to corporate gatherings. A 2021 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, she holds a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Starting her career at a local entertainment facility, Melissa has honed her skills in logistics, stakeholder engagement, and creative problem-solving, consistently delivering memorable and impactful experiences. Her passion for event management and attention to detail make her a valuable asset in any setting.

Dr. Catherine A. "Cathy" Lada, D.Sc., CAE, AAiP, Director of Education

Cathy is a Certified Association Executive who helps organizations turn subject-matter expertise into scalable, learner-centered programs and evaluate how well their online learning measures up. She brings 20 years of association experience and seven years of curriculum and instructional design experience to her role. A former adjunct professor and doctorally trained researcher, she pairs instructional rigor with a member-first approach grounded in voice-of-the-customer research, personas, journey mapping, and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility. At one association, she built the first strategic education plan, growing high-performing webinars 50 percent and achieving record-breaking annual conference attendance. Cathy is an award-winning Certified Association AI Professional who has presented on AI topics at conferences and webinars, appeared on podcasts, and also creates AI training. She volunteers on the Programming Committee of Association Women Technology Champions and as a mentor in the American Marketing Association – DC Chapter and is a long-time ASAE volunteer, serving on multiple Councils.

Julie Minnick, Manager of Corporate Partnerships

Julie has over 20 years of experience working with both associations and corporate clients with a focus on driving revenue and results. She began in the association space, developing strategic sponsorship and exhibitor programs, before spending over a decade on the corporate side driving profitable ecommerce growth through paid digital campaigns. Today, Julie is back working with associations, helping organizations rethink sponsorship strategy, uncover untapped revenue opportunities, and build more strategic, year-round partnerships. She brings a blend of corporate insight, creativity, and a results-driven mindset to every engagement.

Tom Pappas, Finance Director

Tom is a Senior level financial and operations professional with over 37 years of for-profit and non-profit experience. His areas of expertise include financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, non-profit governance, banking compliance, cash management, system implementations, policies and procedures documentation, grant management (federal and private), internal control reviews, board presentations, organization assessments, audit management, organization formation and dissolution, and IRS non-profit application completion and submission. Prior to joining CLA, Tom worked for a professional services firm, for nine years, which specialized in working with Non-Profit organizations. He held positions as CFO, Treasurer and Executive Director for many of the Non-Profit Association clients for a Professional services firm (including Senior Vice President for the firm managing four departments), that managed more than 70 Non-Profits (primarily Associations), around the world. Prior to that Tom held positions as Director of Finance and Administration for a social services non-profit and CFO of a long-standing non-profit preservation society. Tom currently works with a variety of nonprofit industries: Associations, Human Services, Community Development, Religious and Tech groups.

Tracy Schorle, MA, Senior Manager, Membership and Chapters

Tracy brings extensive experience in association management, stakeholder engagement, and community building to her role as Senior Manager of Membership and Chapters for the iaedp™ Foundation. With a strong background in professional communication, she partners closely with chapter leaders, committees, and members worldwide to deliver meaningful engagement, streamline operations, and support chapter vitality. Adrienne Sutton, IOM, Director of Certification

Adrienne Sutton is a seasoned leader in the association industry with more than 24 years of experience advancing professional development, credentialing, and education. She currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of Limitless Association Solution Resource (ASR), a boutique credentialing management company specializing in the development and accreditation of certification programs and all things non-dues revenue. Adrienne’s expertise spans ISO/IEC 17024 and NCCA accreditation, exam development, and strategic program design, helping organizations build and sustain high-impact credentialing and education initiatives. Her career includes leadership roles with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) and over a decade with Partners in Association Management, where she supported membership, certification, and continuing education programs across diverse industries. A graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management (IOM), Adrienne also serves as a public member for the Board of Directors for the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, and has contributed nationally to credentialing best practices through her volunteer work with the Institute for Credentialing Excellence and other organizations. She is passionate about helping organizations elevate their programs through innovation, operational excellence, and strategic vision.

Elsie Valdes, Social Media Coordinator

Elsie Valdes is a 2023 graduate from the University of San Francisco where she majored in psychology and minored in Spanish and entrepreneurship and innovation. As a student she worked for the Coca-Cola Company as a brand ambassador, creating content and promoting the brand through on campus events. Currently she works as a clinical psychologist at an eating disorder treatment center and is coordinator of institutional development and supports brand development, creating content and promoting the brand in Latin America.

Brooke Weldon, CAE, Director of Operations

Brooke Weldon brings over 15 years of experience in nonprofit and association management to her role as Director of Operations. She specializes in implementing sustainable systems, streamlining internal processes, and supporting the valuable programs of iaedp to the eating disorder professional community. Brooke is passionate about strengthening mission-driven teams and improving operational effectiveness through practical strategy and collaboration. When she’s not working, she loves to travel, garden, experiment in the kitchen, and spend time with her family and pets.
