As the iaedp Foundation continues to grow and evolve, one thing remains constant: our deep appreciation for the dedicated volunteers who help drive our mission forward. Committees are where ideas take shape, voices are heard, and real change begins. They offer members a chance to connect with like-minded colleagues, contribute their skills, and help shape the future of eating disorder education and treatment on a global scale.
The Appeals & Complaints Committee is a standing committee of the iaedp Foundation charged with reviewing and resolving appeals and complaints related to certification decisions. The Committee ensures impartiality, fairness, and consistency in handling candidate and certificant concerns, protecting the integrity of iaedp® certification programs and the public interest.
The Committee shall be led by a member of the Certification Committee and primarily composed of certificants in good standing. A public member may be included to provide additional consumer or non-employer perspective, in alignment with NCCA standards.
The Certification Committee promotes the value and integrity of the Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS/CEDS-C) credential by regularly reviewing certification standards and applications, ensuring that the designation remains a trusted standard of excellence for both professionals and the public. All committee members currently hold the CEDS or CEDS-C credential.
The iaedp Foundation Corporate Partnerships & Fundraising Committee will focus on cultivating strategic relationships with corporate partners and generating sustainable revenue streams to advance the organization’s programs, initiatives, and educational outreach. The committee will work to develop and implement strategic initiatives that expand the foundation’s network, resources, and impact through meaningful collaboration and stewardship, and ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
The iaedp Foundation Eating Disorders Review (EDR) Editorial Committee will focus on revitalizing and overseeing the content, structure, and reach of the Eating Disorders Review, the Foundation’s open-access professional publication. It will accomplish this through developing high-quality, clinically relevant, and evidence-based editorial content, establishing peer-review processes, and engaging expert contributors from diverse disciplines. The committee will work to implement strategic initiatives that enhance the credibility, consistency, and value of the publication for clinicians, researchers, and educators who treat eating disorders.
The Education Committee plays a central role in guiding iaedp’s educational offerings and is actively involved in shaping the content and direction of our Symposium, webinars, Core Courses, and Leading By Example series. Members collaborate to assess and address the evolving educational needs of our professional community. All committee members currently hold the CEDS or CEDS-C credential.
The iaedp™ Foundation Ethics Committee is responsible for promoting, upholding, and enforcing the highest standards of ethical conduct within the Foundation’s programs, membership, and activities. The Committee will serve as an advisory and oversight body to:

The Exam Development & Item Writing Committee (“Committee”) supports the integrity and quality of iaedp® certification examinations by overseeing the creation, review, and maintenance of exam content. The Committee ensures that items are developed in accordance with best practices in psychometrics, aligned with the exam blueprint, and reflective of the competencies required of certificants. The Committee works in collaboration with psychometricians, consultants, and iaedp® certification staff to ensure that all examination materials are fair, reliable, valid, and legally defensible.
The International Chapters Committee (the committee) is a leadership group within the iaedp Foundation focused on membership growth, engagement, and inclusion of our international membership and chapter network. With members and chapters around the world the committee provides guidance, support, and representation for international stakeholders, ensuring that voices from across the globe are included in supporting the Foundation’s mission. This committee serves as an effective platform for global engagement and creates a global pathway for leadership and innovation from anywhere in the world. A dedicated international structure allows us to listen better, act more equitably, and grow together with purpose, and welcome innovative practices from international contexts that can enrich the Foundation globally.
The iaedp Foundation Marketing and Communications Committee will focus on how to best promote iaedp Foundation, its Chapters and regions. It will accomplish this through using marketing and communications channels available to the Foundation, such as blogging, website management, social media, advertising, press releases and design work. The committee will work to develop and implement strategic initiatives that broaden the reach of iaedp’s mission, its events (including Chapter events), its reputation and its allure for membership.
The iaedp Foundation Membership Committee will focus on cultivating a diverse, engaged, and growing community of members. It will accomplish this through recruitment, engagement, retention, and overall member experience strategies. The committee will work to develop and implement strategic initiatives that increase membership value, strengthen relationships, and ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and goals.
The Mentoring Committee’s mission is: Building all types of connections within iaedp™, including mentoring relationships. The purpose of iaedp™ mentorship is to provide a resource to clinicians who are new to the field of eating disorders, new to iaedp, or looking for guidance. The iaedp™ Foundation’s Senior Advisory Council serves as a vital support body to the Foundation’s Board of Directors. The Council provides guidance on key organizational matters as needed, helping to ensure the Foundation’s continued growth and impact. In addition to its advisory role, the Council oversees the Fellows Program, supporting excellence and professional development within the field, and manages the Foundation’s prestigious annual awards programs, recognizing outstanding contributions to the treatment of eating disorders.
The iaedp Foundation Strategic Planning Committee will review the organization’s programs and services to develop a 2–to 5-year strategic plan. This will be accomplished through a SWOT analysis, which involves a comprehensive review of the organization’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The committee will work to develop recommendations for strengthening the Foundation and positioning it as a leading organization within the eating disorders global community. The committee will accomplish this by July 1, 2026.
The symposium programming committee is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the content and structure of the Annual Global Symposium. This committee plays a crucial role in shaping the intellectual and educational value of the event. In partnership with the Education Committee, the Symposium Programming Committee determines the overarching themes and goals of the symposium and develops a program that aligns with attendee needs by identifying relevant and timely topics for sessions, panels, workshops, or keynotes. The committee also leads the review and selection process for abstracts proposed from potential presenters, invites keynote speakers, and designs the overflow of the event to ensure a balance of expertise, diversity, and representation across topics and speakers.
