Each year, the iaedp™ Global Symposium brings together leading voices in the eating disorder treatment field—from seasoned clinicians and emerging researchers to registered dietitians, medical professionals, physical therapists, and mental health practitioners. In 2026, we’re taking this conversation to the historic and vibrant city of Baltimore, Maryland, for an event designed to both challenge and inspire.
The symposium kicks off with a welcome reception at 5pm on the 19th, then runs from 8am on the 20th through 5pm on the 21st.

Eating disorders (EDs) are challenging to treat and are associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Research indicates that therapists underutilize evidence-based interventions for EDs and comorbid conditions and that exposure therapy is particularly underutilized. One reason for this underutilization involves negative attitudes and beliefs about such interventions and their associated manuals. The aim of this presentation is to challenge some of these beliefs by reducing common confusion about the difference between evidence-based interventions and evidence-based practice. In addition, this presentation will show how Person’s case formulation approach can be used to embrace evidence-based practice for EDs with an emphasis on the use of exposure therapy.
