19 Nov Registration opens for iaedp™ 2025 Annual Global Symposium
Bloomington, IL (11/18/24)—The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp™) has opened registration for its upcoming 2025 Annual Global Symposium, which will take place on February 21-22 at the J.W. Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Desert, CA. Themed “Moving Forward: Building Resilience and Finding Purpose,” the conference aims to inspire and educate professionals at the forefront of eating disorder treatment.
The iaedp 2025 conference will feature a packed agenda with 88 innovative sessions, including a keynote address, 70 workshops, and 18 discussion panels led by distinguished speakers. Details are forthcoming. “We are excited to welcome as keynote speaker for this significant event, Dr. Mark Standing Eagle Baez, eminent psychologist and President-elect of the Society of Indian Psychologists,” said Board President Dr. Charlynn Small. “He is the first Indigenous American keynote speaker at an iaedp conference and is a highly regarded psychologist recognized for his transformative mental health work with Indigenous persons.”
Dr. Baez is of Mohawk, Pawnee, Coahuiltecan and Mexican descent. He is an Assistant Professor of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Bemidji State University and a practicing psychologist with over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health. His pioneering work in developing the ‘Sweetgrass Method’—a culturally responsive approach to mental health care that integrates evidence-based practices with Indigenous strength-based methodologies—has substantially impacted Indigenous mental health. Dr. Baez is dedicated to enhancing mental health and wellness among Indigenous populations through an integration of traditional Indigenous healing methods and some Western approaches.
