North Carolina: Eating Disorders 101

27 February @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm EST

Today’s society is hyper-focused on weight and weight loss. Although access to weight loss medications and social media has increased, awareness of eating disorders remains limited. Eating disorders have one of the highest mortality rates of any mental health diagnosis, yet often remain unidentified and undertreated. This presentation will provide a snapshot of the diagnostic criteria for the most common eating disorder diagnoses, including Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID and OSFED. Participants will come away from the presentation with increased knowledge about risk factors and maintenance factors and will be better prepared to identify these characteristics in their own clients.
