iaedp Foundation Webinar: Navigating Common Electrolyte Abnormalities in Patients with Eating Disorders

In contrast to most other mental illnesses, electrolyte abnormalities are very commonly found in patients with eating disorders. Many of them, if untreated, are particularly dangerous for these patients. Abnormalities of sodium, potassium, bicarbonate and phosphorous are the most commonly found. In fact, the presence of these abnormalities are pathognomonic of particular eating disorder diagnoses and can help elucidate the presence of a covert eating disorder.
