Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) is current and in good standing. 

 

Minimum of 5 years (6,000 hours) of eating disorder experience

    • Begin accruing once you are a licensed professional.

 

Proof of Leading By Example Workshop completion

      3 Letters of Recommendation

        • Letter writers cannot be from a current consultee or personal therapist
        • Letter writers should be licensed or credentialed eating disorder treatment team professionals
        • At least one letter writer should be within your own discipline

         

        Complete CEDS-C application in iaedp’s Application Portal

          • Begin application once all requirements are met
          • Proof of current eligibility to practice
          • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
          • Leading by Example Certificate
          • 3 Letters of Recommendation
          • $98 Application fee paid

           

          Once your application is submitted, it will be verified by the Certification team.  Please allow up to 30 days for verification by our Certification team.

          Upon verification completion, your application will be reviewed by the Certification Committee. Please allow 90 days for review by the Certification Committee.

           

          As of January 2025, changes to the CEDS and CEDS-C are outlined below. However, if you opened or began an application before July 8, 2024, your application will still include these verification steps. You can put “N/A” or upload a placeholder blank document to fulfill the verification steps in the platform.

          • No requirement for iaedp symposium attendance
          • No requirement for case study submission
          • No requirement for statement of intent and treatment approach
