Northern Europe Networking, UK Event: The Existential Connection Between Autism and Eating Disorders with special guest Livia Sara

19 October @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Autism and eating disorders are widely considered to be comorbidities – but what if this perspective is part of the reason traditional ED treatment fails so many autistic people? In this talk, Livia Sara will draw on her own lived experience and her work with neurodiverse families to shed light on the overlooked role of existentialism in the autism-ED connection. You’ll learn why unaccommodated autism can manifest as adaptive eating and movement behaviors, and gain insights for helping neurodivergent individuals discover their unique version of freedom.

About the Special Guest: Livia Sara is a neurodivergent author, speaker, and eating disorder recovery coach committed to helping families turn their MESS into their MESSage through her books, courses, and coaching programs. She is the founder of Liv Label Free, a neurodiversity-affirming platform founded on the philosophy that eating disorders are not pathological, but represent adaptive attempts to create safety in an overwhelming world. Her Adaptive Eating Spectrum model offers a radically new path towards freedom beyond neurotypical frameworks.
