* Changes to Certification Requirements *

  1. Consolidation to a Single Certification (CEDS or CEDS-C) We are streamlining our certification process to meet accreditation standards, which require us to have a single, unified certification, enhancing the prestige and recognition of our certification. The CEDS and CEDS-C are our standard credentials.
  2. Phasing Out Unique Pathways To comply with accreditation requirements, we are phasing out the Unique Pathways within the next six months. We encourage those currently enrolled in this track to complete their certification application by August 1st.
  3. Discontinuation of the Legacy Designation Program As part of our commitment to maintain high standards and consistency in certification, the Legacy designation program will no longer be offered. If you currently hold a Legacy designation, we can work with you to transition to another option.
  4. Changes to Application Renewal Standards for Consultant Certification For accreditation purposes, we’re enhancing our renewal standards for Certified Eating Disorder Specialist-Consultant (CEDS-C) to include 3 hours of continuing education specific to consultation or supervision within the required 20 hours.
  5. Streamlining Initial Application Requirements We’re simplifying the initial application process by removing the need to submit a Statement of Intent, treatment approach, case study, symposium attendance, and proof of iaedp membership.
  6. Simplifying Renewal Requirements For renewals, we will no longer require proof of iaedp membership or symposium attendance.
